Herbal strength, scientific innovation: Taiyi Health at HNC · FiA · CPHI Shanghai 2026
In June, three major industry events opened in Shanghai in succession: HNC (Health and Nutrition), FiA (Food Ingredients Asia) and CPHI China (pharmaceutical ingredients), bringing together the entire health industry. Taiyi Health presented its core technologies, herbal products and innovative ingredients and took an active part in industry exchange. Two directions stood out clearly at this year's shows: natural herbal ingredients becoming mainstream, and hard technology leading industrial change.

Still hot: food-and-medicine homology as the show's crowd-puller
Consumer demand for natural, healthy, additive-free products keeps climbing, and the food-and-medicine homology herbal segment, rooted in Eastern wellness culture, was the most eye-catching part of this year's shows.
From functional foods and nutrition to oral beauty products, herbal ingredients, herbal formulations and herbal extracts were in high demand. Traditional herbs are no longer confined to a single tonic role; they are extending into food, beauty and other categories, with authentic regional herbs, classic formulas and natural botanical constituents receiving close attention from buyers and brand owners. Innovation that builds on millennia of herbal culture while meeting modern consumer needs is clearly an irreversible trend in the health industry, and the herbal economy is entering a phase of rapid growth.
Taiyi Health has read this trend precisely and made herbal essences the core of its strategy. Supported by four development centres, ten laboratories and two intelligent manufacturing centres, Guangdong Qingyunshan Pharmaceutical and Ganzhou Herb Green Health, it covers the full chain from cultivation and extraction to finished-product manufacturing. More than ten mature standard herbal products were on show, including classic-formula series across popular functional directions, demonstrating the breadth of herbal applications and giving industry partners a mature model for bringing traditional herbs to market in modern form.

Craft meets herbs: technology-driven value upgrading of herbal ingredients
If herbs are the foundation of the industry, advanced technology is the core driver for breaking through bottlenecks and raising product value. Technical exchange was intense at this year's shows, with extraction and purification, digital intelligent manufacturing and constituent activation among the hot topics; using technology to empower production and R&D to create differentiation has become an industry consensus.
Taiyi Health focused its presentation on two proprietary technology platforms and a complete process system to demonstrate its R&D capability. On site, R&D Centre Director Si Congcong and ODM Business Centre Director Dang Xin gave in-depth explanations of both core platforms.
JiCui™ functional ingredient technology platform: a full-chain intelligent manufacturing system for botanical active constituents, built for the development, production and application of functional botanical ingredients. It integrates in-house processes for extraction, activity retention, purification, biomodification, enhanced delivery and safety purification, breaking the limits of conventional botanical extraction, and adds proprietary flavour-optimisation technology that improves taste while preserving activity and efficacy. Together these advantages overcome traditional application barriers, widen the range of usable product formats, and deliver an integrated quality upgrade from natural botanical raw material to premium functional finished product, forming the technical base for products that are highly active, highly absorbable, highly pure, highly stable, good-tasting and widely applicable.
DIMT® digital co-decoction platform: rebuilds traditional decoction with digital and intelligent technology, bringing classic formulas into standardised, large-scale production so that traditional herbal formulations can be commercialised quickly, combining the essence of traditional methods with modern production efficiency.
Also on show were several new cosmetic ingredients, including MitoYouth® urolithin A and SenoFis™ fisetin, which use advanced botanical active-constituent technology to take herbal ingredients across category lines and dissolve the boundary between food and personal care. Many customers held in-depth discussions on process principles, technology implementation, custom solutions and human trials, and the company's full-chain technical service capability was widely recognised.

Keynote: from the pharmacopoeia to skincare, unlocking Eastern botanical ingredients
Alongside the shows, Head of Science Kelly Yang was invited to the 2026 Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Technology and Channels for Beauty Industry Innovation conference, where she delivered a keynote on the innovative conversion of Eastern botanical functional ingredients from the pharmacopoeia into skincare, analysing the technical pathways and compliance points for taking Eastern herbs into beauty.
Of the roughly 300 herbs recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, she noted, many overlap with cosmetic ingredients, yet only a handful, such as glycyrrhizic acid and asiaticoside, have reached mature commercial use; a large pool of high-quality resources remains stuck in a gap where literature exists but standards, data and conversion do not.
The talk covered the core differences between pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, case studies of classic pharmacopoeia species converted into cosmetic ingredients, and the key technical challenges and their solutions, laying out the full path from pharmacopoeia source to formulation and sharing practical experience in raw-material screening, active-constituent extraction, quality-standard development, efficacy validation and regulatory filing.

Qingyunshan Pharmaceutical named a Leading Enterprise in Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation
During the shows, Qingyunshan Pharmaceutical received the Leading Enterprise in Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation award for its intelligent manufacturing achievements in the food-and-medicine homology field.
With more than 35 years in the health industry, Qingyunshan Pharmaceutical manufactures functional foods to pharmaceutical standards. It controls raw-material quality through partner cultivation bases at source, runs closed-loop intelligent production on DCS online-controlled lines, and applies GMP quality management across harvesting, processing, testing and packaging, building product safety on full-chain quality control.

The June shows closed on a clear confirmation of the industry's direction: natural herbs, technology-driven production and diversified products. Traditional herbs are being revitalised by modern science, and innovative technology is finding its value in the herbal segment; together they are moving the health industry towards greater precision and quality. For Taiyi Health the shows were both a showcase of results and a deep exchange with the industry. Going forward, the company will stay rooted in herbal origins, keep iterating its core technology platforms, expand its food-and-medicine homology product matrix and improve its full-chain services, using technology to unlock new value in herbs, matching quality products to market demand, and working with industry peers to bring herbal wisdom into everyday life.
